Milan 2026, the icon who continues to define the language of the supermodel

At Milan Fashion Week 2026, Naomi Campbell once again embodies a generation of women who transformed the role of the model within fashion and popular culture.

Since the 1990s, her name has been associated with an era when supermodels became more than runway figures. They became recognizable personalities, cultural references and defining faces of an industry constantly reinventing itself.

“The era changes. The icon remains.”

For this special Licence feature, we revisit a series of images inspired by the visual language of the 1990s — an era defined by strong silhouettes, confident attitudes, refined beauty and photography with an unmistakable sense of character.

THE ’90s, REIMAGINED

The influence of the 1990s continues to appear throughout contemporary fashion.

But this story is not about recreating the decade exactly as it was. It is about revisiting its energy and understanding why its visual language continues to resonate today.

Set against Milan during Fashion Week, the imagery creates a conversation between past and present.

The attitude feels familiar. The setting is contemporary. The woman at the center of it remains unmistakable.

“Naomi Campbell represents more than a generation of fashion. She represents a language of fashion that continues to evolve.”

A SUPERMODEL BEYOND THE RUNWAY

Naomi Campbell belongs to a generation that expanded the definition of what a supermodel could be.

Her career has crossed fashion, beauty, photography, entertainment and culture, allowing her image to remain relevant through decades of change.

The fashion industry has evolved dramatically since the 1990s. The way images are created, distributed and consumed has changed. Yet certain faces continue to carry a particular cultural weight.

Naomi Campbell is one of them.

Her presence in Milan in 2026 becomes a reminder that fashion history is not simply something that belongs to the past. It continues to influence the way we see the present.

“The ’90s never really left. They simply found a new language.”

THE LICENCE COVER

<img fetchpriority="high" width="720" height="938" alt="" class="wp-image-1217"/ loading="eager" fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1001427221.jpg" srcset="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1001427221.jpg 720w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1001427221-230x300.jpg 230w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1001427221-440x573.jpg 440w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1001427221-680x886.jpg 680w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1001427221-600x782.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" />

For this special edition, Licence places Naomi Campbell at the center of a cover story built around a simple title:

THE ORIGINAL SUPERMODEL

The cover is a reflection on an era, an image and an enduring presence.

Rather than simply looking backward, this story asks what remains from the supermodel era and how its codes continue to appear in contemporary fashion.

Naomi Campbell represents that connection between generations.

The era changes.
The image evolves.
The influence continues.

BEHIND THE IMAGE

Every striking fashion image is the result of a creative vision and the collaboration of several talents.

This series captures Naomi Campbell in Milan through a visual language inspired by the attitude and atmosphere of the 1990s, bringing together photography, hair and make-up to create a contemporary interpretation of the supermodel aesthetic.

The result is a story built around presence, movement and image.

“Behind every image, there is a creative vision, a team and a story.”

<img loading="lazy" width="767" height="1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1215"/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1001425079-767x1024.jpg" srcset="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1001425079-767x1024.jpg 767w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1001425079-225x300.jpg 225w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1001425079-768x1025.jpg 768w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1001425079-1151x1536.jpg 1151w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1001425079-440x587.jpg 440w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1001425079-680x908.jpg 680w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1001425079-600x801.jpg 600w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1001425079.jpg 1170w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 767px) 100vw, 767px" />

Michael Jackson: The Legacy of an Icon

On August 29, Michael Jackson would have turned 68.

Few artists have left such a profound mark on global culture. From his early years with the Jackson 5 to his extraordinary solo career, Michael Jackson continuously reinvented the possibilities of music and performance.

With albums such as Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad, he transformed pop music into a global visual experience. His music videos became cultural events, while his signature silhouettes, sequined jackets, military-inspired looks and iconic accessories helped redefine the relationship between fashion and performance.

But Jackson’s influence extended far beyond music. His choreography, stage presence and visual storytelling inspired generations of musicians, dancers, designers and filmmakers. He understood that an artist could become not only a performer, but an entire world of images, sounds and ideas.

More than 17 years after his passing, his presence remains deeply embedded in popular culture. His songs continue to be discovered by new generations, his style continues to inspire, and his artistic vision remains a reference point.

Michael Jackson was not simply the King of Pop. He was one of the defining cultural figures of his generation — and his legacy continues to speak.

On September 5, 2026, Kinshasa will host the first Creative Currencies Panel Talk, a new platform created to foster meaningful conversations, connections and opportunities within the Congolese creative ecosystem.

For its inaugural edition, Creative Currencies presents a timely theme: “THE BUSINESS OF FASHION: When Creativity Becomes an Economic Force.”

Beyond fashion itself, the panel will explore how creativity can be transformed into sustainable careers, businesses, opportunities and economic value.

A Creative Industry Ready for the Next Step

<img loading="lazy" width="618" height="618" alt="" class="wp-image-1180" style="width:693px;height:auto"/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/1001358480.jpg" srcset="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/1001358480.jpg 618w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/1001358480-300x300.jpg 300w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/1001358480-150x150.jpg 150w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/1001358480-440x440.jpg 440w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/1001358480-600x600.jpg 600w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/1001358480-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 618px) 100vw, 618px" />

The Democratic Republic of Congo is home to an extraordinary generation of designers, stylists, photographers, models, artists, creative directors, entrepreneurs and other emerging talents.

But talent alone is no longer enough.

Professionalization, access to opportunities, business knowledge, investment, networking and stronger industry structures are essential to help creative talents build sustainable careers and position Kinshasa as a stronger force within the African and global creative economy.

These are some of the key questions that Creative Currencies aims to bring to the table.

IB Kamara as Guest of Honor

For its first edition, Creative Currencies will welcome IB Kamara as its guest of honor.

Recognized internationally for his work across fashion and creative direction, Kamara represents a generation of African creative voices that have successfully translated vision, identity and creativity into global influence.

His participation brings an international perspective to a conversation that remains deeply connected to the ambitions of Congo’s creative community.

More Than a Panel — A Space for Connection

The event is designed not only as a conversation, but also as an opportunity to meet, exchange ideas, ask questions and build meaningful connections.

Whether already working in the creative industry or aspiring to turn a passion into a profession, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with professionals and other members of the creative community.

At a time when Africa’s creative industries are gaining increasing international attention, conversations like these are essential to understanding how local talent can become sustainable economic power.

LICENCE SAYS

For Licence Magazine, supporting initiatives that give visibility, structure and momentum to Africa’s creative talents is essential.

LICENCE SAYS: Supporting the vision, amplifying creative voices and giving strength to a new generation shaping the future of Congo’s creative industry.

The talent is already here. Now, it is time to build the structures, opportunities and platforms that allow it to become a true economic force.

CREATIVE CURRENCIES — THE BUSINESS OF FASHION

For Sanober, fashion is not simply a profession it is a way of life. Every destination he visits, every piece of architecture he admires, every artwork he encounters, and every culture he experiences becomes part of his creative language. His collections are designed not to follow trends, but to create unforgettable silhouettes that transcend seasons and generations.

<img loading="lazy" width="576" height="1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1131"/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301954-576x1024.jpg" srcset="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301954-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301954-169x300.jpg 169w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301954-768x1365.jpg 768w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301954-864x1536.jpg 864w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301954-440x782.jpg 440w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301954-680x1209.jpg 680w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301954-600x1067.jpg 600w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301954.jpg 1080w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px" />

At the heart of SANOBER PARIS lies a clear philosophy: glamour is timeless. Each design is conceived to empower women, allowing them to express confidence, strength, and individuality. To Fahaid Sanober, clothing is more than fabric—it is an armour capable of transforming the way a woman feels the moment she wears it.

<img loading="lazy" width="576" height="1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1132"/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301952-576x1024.jpg" srcset="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301952-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301952-169x300.jpg 169w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301952-768x1365.jpg 768w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301952-864x1536.jpg 864w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301952-440x782.jpg 440w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301952-680x1209.jpg 680w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301952-600x1067.jpg 600w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001301952.jpg 1080w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px" />

His vision of luxury extends far beyond exclusivity or price. True luxury, he believes, is defined by identity, craftsmanship, emotion, and legacy. It is about building a house with a distinctive signature that inspires people for decades to come.

Building an independent fashion house has demanded resilience, creativity, and determination. Competing without the resources of historic luxury brands has only strengthened his commitment to excellence and reinforced the unique identity of SANOBER PARIS.

Looking ahead, Fahaid Sanober remains focused on expanding internationally, presenting his collections on prestigious global stages, and continuing to redefine contemporary glamour through a spectacular, sensual, and timeless aesthetic.

Interview with Fahaid Sanober

Who is Fahaid Sanober beyond fashion?

To be honest, there isn’t really a life outside of fashion. Fashion is part of my everyday life, the way I think, and the way I see the world. It’s my first love. Every journey, every encounter, every work of art, and every architectural detail fuels my creativity. I believe the greatest dreams are built through patience, hard work, and the determination to never give up.

What is the vision behind SANOBER PARIS?

SANOBER PARIS was created to become much more than a fashion brand. I want to build a house that celebrates glamour, emotion, and exceptional craftsmanship. Every collection tells a story and invites women to reveal the strongest and most captivating version of themselves. I don’t simply create clothes—I create women who are unforgettable.

How would you describe the DNA of your brand in three words?

Glamour. Sensuality. Boldness.

Where do you find inspiration?

Travel, culture, art, architecture, and nature inspire me constantly. But above all, I’m fascinated by glamour throughout history—from Hollywood legends to the icons of the 1990s. My goal is never to follow trends, but to create timeless silhouettes that leave a lasting impression.

How do you want women to feel when wearing SANOBER PARIS?

Strong. Sexy. Completely themselves. Clothing should feel like armour—something that gives confidence and allows every woman to express who she truly is.

What defines true luxury?

Luxury is never about price. It’s about vision, craftsmanship, excellence, and identity. A true luxury house creates dreams and builds a legacy.

What has been your greatest challenge?

Building an independent fashion house without the resources of the major heritage brands. Every challenge has pushed me to become more creative and strategic.

If you could dress one person, who would it be?

Beyoncé. I deeply admire her discipline, her constant pursuit of excellence, and her remarkable ability to reinvent herself. Those values perfectly reflect my own philosophy.

How do you see the future of luxury fashion?

The future belongs to brands with a genuine identity. People are looking for emotion, authenticity, and meaningful stories. Glamour never disappears—it evolves, and that’s exactly what SANOBER PARIS represents.

What’s next for SANOBER PARIS?

Expanding internationally, presenting my collections at major fashion events, and unveiling exciting new projects that, for now, remain confidential.

What advice would you give to young designers?

Never become a copy of someone else. Protect your vision. Talent matters, but discipline, patience, and perseverance are what build a lasting fashion house.

Finally, what message would you like to share with Licence Magazine readers around the world?

Fahaid Sanober: Believe in your dreams, but most importantly, have the courage to act. Dreams only become reality when you decide to pursue them. Never be afraid to think big the only limits are often the ones we place on ourselves.

Tracee Ellis Ross Proves That Even an Open Handbag Can Be a Fashion StatementDon’t ask Tracee Ellis Ross to close her handbag. The actress and fashion icon has long mastered the art of elevated street style, making it safe to assume that every styling choice—no matter how unconventional—is entirely intentional.Spotted arriving at the Empire State Building on Thursday, Ross stepped out in a vibrant Loewe ensemble that perfectly reflected her fearless approach to fashion. She paired a classic white tank top with structured green trousers featuring subtle Loewe logo detailing, creating a fresh and modern silhouette.Adding a bold finishing touch, she opted for striking crimson-red cube-heeled pumps, injecting energy and sophistication into the colourful look without veering into holiday-inspired territory.The standout accessory, however, was her Loewe Amazona handbag, which she carried deliberately unzipped. When a fan pointed out that her bag was open, Ross laughed and replied, “That’s fashion!” The playful exchange quickly highlighted what fashion enthusiasts already know: the open handbag wasn’t a mistake—it was part of the look.With her signature confidence and impeccable styling, Tracee Ellis Ross continues to challenge conventional fashion rules, proving that true style is defined by personality, creativity, and the courage to embrace unexpected details.Photo: Jason Howard/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images/Getty Images

An open handbag may seem like an oversight, but in today’s fashion landscape, it becomes a deliberate styling choice that challenges traditional expectations.More than a trend, this moment reflects the growing influence of personal expression over rigid fashion rules. Tracee Ellis Ross once again proves that true style isn’t about perfection—it’s about intention, individuality, and the confidence to redefine what luxury looks like.

There is a particular kind of courage required to build something lasting in a place most people are trying to leave. In Eden, North Carolina, a small city tucked into Rockingham County’s gentle hills, that courage has taken architectural form. Purcell House, a professional portrait studio and fine art gallery now occupying 637 Washington Street in the Leaksville Historic District, opened its doors on July 3rd and 4th with an inaugural exhibition that feels less like a debut and more like a reckoning.

The exhibition, titled “HOMECOMING,” features 36 works by sixteen contemporary artists, with consigned pieces totaling over $40,000. This is an institution declaring itself.

“Home is where the art is,” reads the foundational principle of Purcell House, and in those six words lies the entire philosophy of what has emerged here: not a vanity project for a photographer-turned-curator, but a deliberate, rooted act of cultural infrastructure. At a moment when creative institutions cluster predictably in coastal cities, when the art world operates as a closed system of established hierarchies, Purcell House insists on a different model entirely.

<img loading="lazy" width="692" height="1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1098" style="width:692px;height:auto"/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/DSC_0317-copy-692x1024.jpeg" srcset="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/DSC_0317-copy-692x1024.jpeg 692w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/DSC_0317-copy-203x300.jpeg 203w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/DSC_0317-copy-768x1137.jpeg 768w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/DSC_0317-copy-1037x1536.jpeg 1037w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/DSC_0317-copy-1383x2048.jpeg 1383w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/DSC_0317-copy-440x651.jpeg 440w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/DSC_0317-copy-680x1007.jpeg 680w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/DSC_0317-copy-600x888.jpeg 600w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/DSC_0317-copy-scaled.jpeg 1729w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 692px) 100vw, 692px" />
Photography by Brody Nelson (@itsbrodae), featured artist

The significance of this moment cannot be understated. For decades, small American cities have hemorrhaged their creative class. Young people with vision, talent, and ambition leave for New York, Los Angeles, Miami. They leave for proximity to power. What Amadeus Purcell has accomplished, by contrast, is to return.

Purcell House sits across from his father’s barbershop, a detail that matters. The name “Purcell” carries generational weight in this community, a shared middle name across four generations of his family. The gallery is not separate from his history; it is an extension of it. This is what institutional thinking looks like when it is rooted not in money but in legacy.

The Artists

The sixteen artists in “HOMECOMING” work across portraiture, identity, spirituality, and place: @sancho.smalls, @mylesperhr, @AyooFree, @zionsperspective, @anu.erraa, @machiasnewera, @theblackonion, @phanypaxk, @803_artistry, @geer_studio, @iamrobertxavier, @dts.unlimited, @kaleidoscokris, @itsbrodae, and @japhs.world.

Each operates from their own singularity. Yet together, what emerges is larger than individual practice. It is a conversation about what it means to create, to witness, to leave a mark. It is a conversation about the value of being seen.

<img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="722" alt="" class="wp-image-1091"/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4934-1024x722.jpg" srcset="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4934-1024x722.jpg 1024w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4934-300x212.jpg 300w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4934-768x542.jpg 768w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4934-440x310.jpg 440w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4934-680x480.jpg 680w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4934-600x423.jpg 600w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4934.jpg 1523w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" />
Photography by Zion McKnight (@zionsperspective), featured artist

The Opening

The July 3rd and 4th opening weekend drew over 80 people who came not to perform attendance but to sit with the work. They lingered. They asked questions. They moved through the gallery with the kind of attention that suggests something is happening here—something that matters.

<img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="768" alt="" class="wp-image-1096"/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Tezza-2735-2-1024x768.jpg" srcset="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Tezza-2735-2-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Tezza-2735-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Tezza-2735-2-768x576.jpg 768w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Tezza-2735-2-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Tezza-2735-2-2048x1536.jpg 2048w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Tezza-2735-2-440x330.jpg 440w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Tezza-2735-2-680x510.jpg 680w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Tezza-2735-2-600x450.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" />
Photography by Amadeus Purcell (@amadeuspurcell), featured artist

The walls, painted in careful studio white and gallery burgundy, held the work with quiet confidence. This was not a crowded opening meant to generate social media content. This was a moment of real gathering, where the work could breathe and people could actually encounter it.

The exhibition runs through September 26, 2026, allowing time for the community to sit with these works, for conversations to deepen, for what Purcell calls the “unhurried” approach to institutional practice to unfold naturally.

<img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="722" alt="" class="wp-image-1097"/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4946-1024x722.jpg" srcset="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4946-1024x722.jpg 1024w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4946-300x212.jpg 300w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4946-768x542.jpg 768w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4946-440x310.jpg 440w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4946-680x480.jpg 680w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4946-600x423.jpg 600w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/IMG_4946.jpg 1523w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" />
Photography by Zion McKnight (@zionsperspective), featured artist

What It Means

Purcell House represents a specific kind of ambition: to build something that will outlast any single person. To prove that cultural infrastructure does not require coastal validation. To answer a question the art world has largely stopped asking: what does an institution owe its community?

The answer, here, is clear. We will be here. We will document your face. We will honor your practice. We will create space for you to be seen.

In a historic district that has known disinvestment and transformation, this is not nostalgia. This is a blueprint.

Emma Grede has established herself as one of the defining forces behind the evolution of modern fashion entrepreneurship, operating at the intersection of culture, commerce, and digital consumer behavior. Her influence is not limited to brand visibility or celebrity association; it is embedded in the operational architecture of how some of today’s most successful direct-to-consumer companies are built, scaled, and sustained.

In an industry historically driven by exclusivity, seasonal cycles, and legacy gatekeeping, Grede represents a different model of leadership one shaped by accessibility, data-informed decision-making, and a sharp understanding of contemporary identity. Her work reflects a consistent mission: to build brands that respond to real human needs while challenging outdated standards of representation and size inclusivity.

Redefining Fashion Through Structure and Inclusion

<img class="is-layout-flow wp-block-cover-is-layout-flow" alt="" data-object-fit="cover"/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001256216-1-886x1024.jpg">

Emma Grede: The discreet architect who is redefining the power of modern fashion

As co-founder and CEO of , Emma Grede helped introduce a structural shift in the denim and ready-to-wear category. Rather than treating inclusivity as an extension of existing sizing systems, Good American was built from the ground up to prioritize it as a core business principle. This foundational decision influenced everything from product development to marketing language and retail positioning.

The result was not only cultural resonance but also commercial performance that challenged long-standing assumptions in the fashion industry. By designing collections that span a wide range of body types without compromising aesthetic direction, Good American positioned itself as both a lifestyle brand and a case study in inclusive scalability.

This approach reflects one of Grede’s central business beliefs: that modern consumers do not separate values from purchasing decisions. Instead, authenticity, representation, and functionality are intertwined factors that directly shape brand loyalty.

SKIMS and the Architecture of Modern Consumer Brands

<img alt=""/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001253688-1-904x1024.jpg">
Credit photo by @Emmagrede

Grede’s role as a founding partner of further solidified her position within the global fashion ecosystem. SKIMS emerged in a highly competitive category—shapewear and foundational garments—yet quickly became a dominant force due to its clarity of positioning and rapid response to consumer demand.

While much public attention focuses on its cultural visibility, the underlying success of SKIMS is deeply rooted in operational discipline. The brand leverages direct-to-consumer infrastructure, iterative product development, and tight feedback loops between audience engagement and product refinement. This allows SKIMS to function less like a traditional fashion house and more like a responsive consumer-tech hybrid.

Grede’s contribution to this model reflects her broader philosophy: brands must be built as systems, not just collections. In this system, speed, precision, and cultural awareness are not separate priorities—they are interdependent elements of growth.

Leadership Beyond Fashion: Voice, Narrative, and Influence

<img alt=""/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001253693-768x1024.webp">
Crédit photo by @Emmagrede

Beyond her roles in brand development, Emma Grede has also positioned herself as a voice in entrepreneurship and leadership discourse. Through her podcast , she engages in conversations that explore discipline, mindset, resilience, and the realities of building and sustaining companies.

Unlike traditional business commentary that often emphasizes success in retrospect, her narrative focuses on process—highlighting uncertainty, decision-making under pressure, and the psychological demands of leadership. Her recurring philosophy, “Start With Yourself,” reflects a framework centered on personal accountability. It suggests that sustainable success begins not with external validation, but with internal clarity and execution.

This perspective has resonated strongly with emerging entrepreneurs, particularly those navigating industries where representation and access have historically been limited. Grede’s message reframes entrepreneurship as a practice of discipline rather than inspiration alone.

Philanthropy and Institutional Engagement

<img alt=""/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/1001256244-613x1024.jpg">

Grede’s influence also extends into philanthropic and civic spaces. Her involvement with reflects a commitment to addressing child poverty and providing essential resources to families in need. The organization focuses on delivering basic necessities such as diapers, clothing, and hygiene products to children living in poverty, particularly across the United States.

In parallel, her engagement with the connects her work to broader initiatives centered on leadership development and civic engagement. These roles reflect a belief that entrepreneurship and social responsibility are not separate domains, but interconnected areas of long-term impact.

Through these commitments, Grede extends her influence beyond commercial success into systems that support community development and leadership cultivation.

A Modern Model of Entrepreneurship

What distinguishes Emma Grede within today’s business landscape is not simply her involvement in successful companies, but the consistency of her strategic framework across different ventures. Whether building fashion brands or contributing to philanthropic initiatives, her approach remains grounded in structure, clarity, and execution.

She operates with a systems-oriented mindset—treating brands not as static identities but as evolving infrastructures that must adapt to cultural and technological shifts. This perspective aligns closely with the realities of modern consumer behavior, where audiences expect immediacy, authenticity, and responsiveness from the brands they support.

In this context, Grede’s work can be understood as part of a larger transformation in how value is created in fashion and lifestyle industries. The traditional boundaries between marketing, product development, and cultural storytelling are increasingly blurred, and her career reflects a mastery of navigating that convergence.

Influence, Legacy, and the Future of Brand Building

Emma Grede’s trajectory signals a broader shift in what leadership looks like in the 21st-century fashion economy. Influence is no longer measured solely by aesthetic direction or editorial presence; it is measured by the ability to build systems that scale, endure, and remain relevant across shifting cultural landscapes.

At Licence Magazine, her work represents a new definition of legacy—one rooted not only in visibility but in structural impact. Through , , and her broader entrepreneurial ecosystem, she continues to shape how modern brands are conceptualized and executed.

Ultimately, Grede’s philosophy reinforces a fundamental principle that resonates across industries: success is not an isolated moment, but a continuous process of building, refining, and aligning vision with execution. In an era defined by rapid change, her work stands as an example of consistency as strategy and discipline as design.

There are creations that simply dress. And there are creations that define an era.

With his latest silhouette designed for the Congolese national football team, Alvin Jmak does far more than design an official outfit. He opens a conversation—about identity, visibility, and how a nation chooses to present itself to the world.

Created to accompany the DR Congo Leopards during the 2026 World Cup in the United States, this look is not just a uniform. It is a cultural statement. A shift in how football, fashion, and national pride now intersect on a global stage.

A First Impression Before the Game Begins

<img loading="lazy" width="768" height="1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1049"/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001235337-768x1024.jpg" srcset="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001235337-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001235337-225x300.jpg 225w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001235337-440x587.jpg 440w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001235337-680x907.jpg 680w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001235337-600x800.jpg 600w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001235337.jpg 1080w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" />

In modern football, arrival has become a moment of spectacle. A global introduction. A visual narrative before a single ball is kicked.

This is exactly where Alvin Jmak steps in.

His silhouette—composed of a structured tailored suit paired with a matching bag—transforms the players’ arrival into a refined and intentional fashion statement.

The Leopards no longer simply arrive. They appear. They command attention. They tell a story before stepping onto the pitch.

This approach places DR Congo within a growing global movement where football is no longer only sport, but also culture, fashion, and identity.

An intention to represent a new Congolese generation ambitious, globally aware, and deeply conscious of its image and cultural impact.

Within this silhouette lies a modern interpretation of African elegance: structured, confident, and grounded in a strong sense of identity.

The suit becomes more than clothing. It becomes a symbol—of a team, a nation, and a rising creative generation determined to be seen and recognized.

Football as a New Fashion Stage

Over the past decade, football has evolved beyond sport. It has become a global stage where fashion, luxury, culture, and storytelling converge.

With this creation, DR Congo fully steps into that evolution.

The Leopards are no longer only expected to perform on the field. They are now cultural ambassadors, visual icons, and carriers of a national aesthetic in motion.

This shift is significant. It repositions Congolese football within a broader cultural narrative—one that extends far beyond the stadium.

A New Wave of Congolese Creativity

This project also highlights a deeper reality: the rise of a new generation of Congolese creatives capable of engaging with global design and luxury standards.

Alvin Jmak represents this movement.

A generation that no longer waits for validation but creates its own space. A generation that understands that in today’s world, clothing is language—and image is power.

Luxury is built on heritage, but it thrives through innovation. Few executives embody that balance better than Sandrine Conseiller, the woman leading the global brand strategy behind one of the world’s most iconic names in diamonds: De Beers Group.

As CEO of Brands & Diamond Desirability, Conseiller is redefining how one of the most prestigious luxury houses connects with a new generation of consumers. Her leadership combines decades of expertise in global branding, fashion, sustainability, and strategic transformation, making her one of the most influential executives in the luxury industry today.

A Career Built Around Iconic Brands

<img loading="lazy" width="666" height="1000" alt="" class="wp-image-1042"/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227213.jpg" srcset="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227213.jpg 666w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227213-200x300.jpg 200w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227213-440x661.jpg 440w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227213-600x901.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 666px) 100vw, 666px" />

Before joining De Beers in December 2023, Sandrine Conseiller established herself as one of Europe’s leading brand strategists.

Her career began at Unilever, where she spent nearly twenty years managing international marketing, business development, and executive leadership across multiple markets. During this period, she gained extensive expertise in building globally recognized consumer brands and leading multicultural teams.

She later joined MF Brands Group, serving as Executive Vice President of Marketing & Branding for Lacoste before becoming CEO of Aigle. Under her leadership, Aigle accelerated its international repositioning by embracing sustainability, innovation, and a modern premium identity while remaining true to its heritage.

Leading the World’s Most Recognized Diamond Brand

<img loading="lazy" width="720" height="884" alt="" class="wp-image-1043"/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227214.png" srcset="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227214.png 720w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227214-244x300.png 244w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227214-440x540.png 440w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227214-680x835.png 680w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227214-600x737.png 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" />

At De Beers, Sandrine Conseiller oversees the company’s portfolio of luxury brands, including De Beers Jewellers and De Beers Forevermark, while shaping strategies that strengthen consumer desire for natural diamonds worldwide.

Her appointment reflects De Beers’ ambition to move beyond its historic legacy and position natural diamonds as symbols of authenticity, responsibility, and lasting emotional value in an evolving luxury landscape.

Working alongside CEO Al Cook, Conseiller plays a central role in defining how the company communicates the unique story of natural diamonds—from their geological origins to their cultural and emotional significance.

Luxury Meets Purpose

Few creative directors have managed to redefine the identity of a global fashion house with the same clarity and contemporary vision as Marco Falcioni. As the Creative Director behind both BOSS and HUGO, Falcioni has become one of the industry’s most influential creative minds, leading a transformation that has positioned the German fashion giant at the center of today’s luxury conversation.

<img loading="lazy" width="682" height="1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1037"/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227188-682x1024.jpg" srcset="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227188-682x1024.jpg 682w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227188-200x300.jpg 200w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227188-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227188-440x660.jpg 440w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227188-680x1020.jpg 680w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227188-600x900.jpg 600w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227188.jpg 959w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 682px) 100vw, 682px" />

Having joined HUGO BOSS in 2015, Falcioni steadily built his reputation through innovative menswear collections, forward-thinking collaborations, and a deep understanding of contemporary culture. Before assuming the role of Creative Director in 2022, he played a key role in projects such as the highly successful BOSS x Russell Athletic collaboration, the company’s digital-first initiatives, and its first NFT designs—demonstrating an ability to merge craftsmanship with emerging technology.

<img loading="lazy" width="720" height="868" alt="" class="wp-image-1038"/ loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227156.png" srcset="https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227156.png 720w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227156-249x300.png 249w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227156-440x530.png 440w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227156-680x820.png 680w, https://licencemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/1001227156-600x723.png 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" />

Under his creative leadership, BOSS has evolved far beyond traditional tailoring. Falcioni has introduced a modern visual language that embraces inclusivity, versatility, and effortless sophistication while remaining true to the brand’s heritage. His collections blur the boundaries between formalwear and casual dressing, creating wardrobes designed for today’s global generation.

At the same time, HUGO has developed a stronger identity aimed at younger audiences, celebrating individuality, self-expression, and contemporary street culture. Together, the two brands have become more connected to fashion, music, sports, entertainment, and digital culture than ever before.

Falcioni’s vision extends beyond clothing. He has championed diversity, sustainability, and innovation as fundamental pillars of modern luxury. His creative philosophy reflects a belief that fashion should inspire confidence while remaining authentic, accessible, and culturally relevant. These values have become increasingly visible across runway presentations, advertising campaigns, and global collaborations.

His influence can also be seen in BOSS’s partnerships with internationally recognized personalities, including athletes, musicians, and cultural icons, reinforcing the brand’s ambition to become a true lifestyle label. Under his direction, every campaign is carefully crafted to connect with new generations while maintaining the timeless elegance associated with BOSS.

Today, Marco Falcioni represents a new generation of creative directors—leaders who understand that fashion is no longer limited to garments but encompasses storytelling, technology, culture, and community. His work continues to reshape how luxury brands communicate with audiences around the world, making BOSS and HUGO more relevant than ever in an increasingly competitive global market.

As fashion continues to evolve, Marco Falcioni stands among the visionaries defining its future—proving that creativity, innovation, and authenticity remain the most powerful forces behind enduring style.
